XTO Energy helps Fort Worth schools expand Science, Technology, Engineering and Math programs

XTO presented a $10,000 contribution to Paschal High School in August to help the school purchase computers, software, 3D printers and robotics for its engineering lab.
Paschal High School is also using a portion of the contribution to fund the 2016-2017 African American Latino Student Achievement Association. This new program is available to high school students with a GPA of 3.7 or higher, and provides incentives and awards that will assist students in successfully transitioning to the next level of education academically, socially and emotionally.
Over the past five years, XTO has contributed $80,000 to Paschal High School.
Also in August, XTO presented a $25,000 contribution to Polytechnic High School to fund the school’s Engineering and Automation Program of Choice, which allows students to explore science, math and automation in unique and innovative ways.
Over the past three years, XTO has contributed $75,000 to the program, which has enabled Polytechnic to purchase tools, computers, color and 3D printers, and supplies and robotics kits, as well as fund competition supplies and registration.
Peg Murphy, corporate partnerships coordinator, Fort Worth Independent School District, said the partnership between XTO and the district has made a significant impact to the engineering programs at both high schools.
“XTO’s heart for kids has provided students with access to cutting-edge supplies and materials in the industry,” Murphy said. “The partnership has contributed toward bridging the gap between career application and classroom learning. Without this partnership, neither Polytechnic nor Paschal would have seen such a rapid growth in their programs. We are so appreciative for partnerships that enhance the knowledge, skills and abilities of our students. Thank you, XTO, for your dedication to the students and families of Fort Worth ISD."
“An investment in these children is an investment in our future,” said Bob Manthei, XTO public and government affairs. “These contributions have helped more than 200 students pursue their passion for science, technology and math-related subjects.”
