Louisiana fire departments receive $17,000 from XTO Energy

XTO Energy Inc., a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Corporation, today announced it has contributed $17,000 to 15 fire departments, many of which are volunteer departments, throughout the Haynesville shale region in northern Louisiana to help fund emergency services.

“Volunteer fire departments play an extremely important role in providing emergency response services to rural areas that are not easily served by city or county fire departments,” said Keith Underwood, vice president, XTO Energy Eastern Division. “We understand the challenge these volunteer fire departments have working with tight budgets, and we are pleased to provide some assistance to help them continue to provide important services.”

The following fire departments each received a contribution from XTO Energy:
• Claiborne Parish District #6 Fire Department, Lisbon
• Desoto Fire District #1 Volunteer Fire Department, Logansport
• Eden-Fellowship Volunteer Fire Department, Trout
• Haynesville Volunteer Fire Department, Haynesville
• Jena Volunteer Fire Department, Jena
• Little Creek-Searcy Volunteer Fire Department, Trout
• Olla Volunteer Fire Department, Olla
• Rogers NEBO Fire Department, Jena
• Shongaloo Volunteer Fire Department, Shongaloo
• Springhill Fire Department, Springhill
• Summerville Rosefield Fire Department, Jena
• Tullos Volunteer Fire Department, Tullos
• Urania Volunteer Fire Department, Urania
• Webster Parish Fire District #8, Cotton Valley
• Whitehall Volunteer Fire Department, Rhinehart
