East Texas fire departments receive $57,500 from XTO Energy

XTO Energy Inc., a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Corporation, today announced it has contributed $57,500 to 35 fire departments, many of which are volunteer departments, throughout East Texas to help fund emergency services.

XTO Energy Inc., a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Corporation, today announced it has contributed $57,500 to 35 fire departments, many of which are volunteer departments, throughout East Texas to help fund emergency services.

“Volunteer fire departments play an extremely important role in providing emergency response services to rural areas that are not easily served by city or county fire departments,” said Keith Underwood, vice president, XTO Energy Eastern Division. “We understand the challenge these volunteer fire departments have working with tight budgets, and we are pleased to provide some assistance to help them continue to provide important services.”

The following fire departments each received a contribution from XTO Energy:

“These volunteer fire departments provide a critical service to these East Texas communities,” Underwood said. “We are pleased to provide this contribution to allow them to continue to provide essential services in the communities where we operate.”

In 2016, XTO has contributed $201,000 to 84 emergency response organizations in Texas.
