He provides oversight over Controllers, IT, Tax, Treasurers, Real Estate and Facilities, Aviation and Procurement.
Chris is Canadian, and originally from St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. He attended Memorial University of Newfoundland and graduated in 1984 with a Bachelor of Commerce (Hon.) with a major in accounting. He subsequently achieved a professional accounting designation in 1988.
Chris started with Imperial Oil, ExxonMobil’s majority owned affiliate, in 1985, as a project accountant in Newfoundland supporting the offshore drilling program.
Over his career, Chris has held several positions in Calgary and Toronto in project accounting, property divestments, internal audit and financial reporting and planning. He became assistant controller for one of Imperial Oil’s marketing divisions in 1998.
In 2000, shortly after the Exxon and Mobil merger, Chris transferred to Houston and was a planning advisor for ExxonMobil Production Company, and later U.S. Production financial reporting manager.
Chris returned to Imperial Oil in Toronto in 2003 to become reporting manager, responsible for all of Imperial Oil’s internal and external reporting, and in 2005 became upstream controller upon Imperial Oil's move to Calgary.
In 2007, Chris returned to Houston where he became the Americas financial reporting manager for ExxonMobil Production Company.
Chris served as the CFO for Aera Energy, an ExxonMobil affiliate, in 2008, in Bakersfield, Ca.
In 2011, Chris returned to ExxonMobil as manager, Investor Relations. In 2013, Chris became the financial reporting manager for ExxonMobil. In 2015, Chris moved into his current role as business services manager.
